This carob syrup is an organic product that is produced on the island of Crete in Greece. Handpicked harvest, gentle preparation.
The fruits of the carob tree (pods = carobs) are highly valued for their ingredients and are known as "Greek chocolate" also. Although they are very sugary, they are very low in fat. Carob syrup lowers cholesterol, supports digestion and contains a lot of fiber. It regulates the course of the gastrointestinal area, supports kidney function and helps with colds, bronchitis and asthma. The syrup is rich in vitamins, iron, calcium and potassium. It even removes radioactive cell bodies and prevents the growth of different tumors.
Recipe suggestion: Approx. three teaspoons simply dissolved in hot tea.
Or you can use it as a spread, in a green salad or in curd cheese and yoghurt.
